We come to you with sad hearts but an outlook that is creative and ceaseless.
Due to issues with building around the date Sawyer Brown gave us for the rescheduled performance, Sawyer Brown will not be able to perform at Flood Aid NE 2019. It is close to the date of the performance, so we do not have enough time to get book another National act. We had hoped with this type of event to draw a large crowd that could yield a substantial amount of revenue to be able to set up an opportunity for folks still struggling from the Flood to apply for additional assistance. In trying to do this twice, and having outside circumstances derail the process, we have decided to keep moving forward with Flood Aid NE 2019 on a smaller, but continual format.
We held fundraisers in Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, and now Jan. We will hold more in Feb and March. As soon as all of the tickets have been refunded, we will announce the amount that will be donated to the NE Rural Response Hotline from our current fundraising. Then, we will look to scholarships to be presented to the communities of Lynch and Spencer in NE, as additional funds are raised.
The website will go down in a few days due to that largely being about the concert. The Flood Aid NE 2019 FB page will remain to keep you informed of the next opportunities to gather with your neighbors and friends to spend your dollars in a way that supports those still working to put their lives back together.
We cannot explain how hard and rewarding this journey has been. It is a constant reminder of how important it is to help your neighbors. You never know when you will be the one needing help.
Join us on Sunday from 4:30-8:30pm at The St. Pat’s Auditorium in Fremont for a Chili/Cinnamon Roll Cook-off and Casino Night while you listen to the tunes of Tony Lamar! Apparel will be available for sale-that is now a collectors item! Lol. The Bergan Booster Club will be there to serve alcohol and other drinks.
Thank you for all of your support!
Becky, Ginger, and Jim
